wow! everyone is busy preparing for Eid Fitri celebration. buying new clothes, new shoes, new shawl, new curtains, new new new.. everything is new! Everything must be change! We said that we were following Sunnnah. But remember, the hadith is about wearing best clothes, not new clothes.
It was narrated that Jaabir (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) had a cloak which he would wear on the two Eids and on Fridays.
-Saheeh Ibn Khuzaymah, 1756-
Al-Bayhaqi narrated with a saheeh isnaad (authentic chain of narrators) that Ibn ‘Umar used to wear his best clothes on Eid.
Imam an-Nasafi says in Kanz ad-Daqa’iq:
The Sunnah is to wear one’s best clothes on Eid.
It is not wrong to wear new clothes but don't make a fuss about it. And don't buy more than enough since wasting is a conduct of syaitan!
Women like to be beautiful, to be noticed and to be liked. However, don't wear excessively especially during the eid celebration. make sure you wear clothes that cover your body and please wear proper hijab. we don't want all the rewards that you collected during the month of Ramadhan goes away one by one.
As a reminder to me and to others, there is a few days left in the month of Ramadhan. There is a chance that maybe tonight is lailatul Qadr. you can get a lifetime rewards in just one night! It was on this night that the Qur’an was first revealed to Rasullulah (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) by the greatest of all angels, Angel Jibril. It is a night filled with importance and rahma (mercy), one that we should reflect upon. So, don't let this chance pass!
